A city where the two continents meet

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to the 11^th International Pharmaceutical Technology Symposium (IPTS-2002), to be held in Istanbul 9-11 September, 2002 under the joint sponsorship of APGI, EUFEPS, HETEK, IEIS, the Nagai Foundation, TÜBİTAK and, TÜFTAD. İstanbul, a city where the two continents meet, is chosen as the site of our Symposium because of its history, culture, tradition and natural beauty. It is also a city where the heart of the Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry is located.

During this Symposium we decided to discuss the intelligent drug delivery systems. Along with the scientific part of the programme, there will also be an exhibition of pharmaceutical companies and laboratory equipments.

We hope that this Symposium will bring together scientists from throughout the world to discuss current and future developments on the intelligent drug delivery systems. On behalf of my colleagues on the Organising Committee, I look forward to welcoming you in Istanbul.
