Between September 9-11, 2002 there will be an exhibition of pharmaceutical, analytical, and medical apparatus. If you are interested in and would like to take place in this activity, please contact the Symposium Agency.

Social Events

Welcome Reception
The Welcome Reception will be on September 8, 2002, Sunday.

Closing Dinner
There will be a closing dinner at the end of the symposium.

Symposium Tours
Symposium tours during and after the symposium will be organized by KUBABA. For further information, please contact Kubaba.

Accompanying Persons
There is going to be a social programme for the accompanying persons. This will be available at the KUBABA Desk.

General Information

Transportation
For transportation taxis or car rental can be used. The color of taxis is yellow and they have taximeters. Car rental or transfer from/to the airport can be organised by Symposium Agency.

Tipping
Many establisments have 15% service charge. However 10% tipping is normal. Tipping taxi drivers is not customary.

Local Time
The time in Turkey will be GMT plus 2 hours.

Climate
The weather in İstanbul in September is arround 25^oC during the day and 15^oC during the night.

Electricity
In İstanbul the power supply is 220 volts. AC plugs are standart continental European type. British and North American appliances need an adaptor.

Currency and Exchange
The official monetary unit is Turkish Lira. Foreign currencies can be exchanged in all banks, at the airport and at the front cashier of your hotel.
